The Kaniva Historical Museum has been recently restored and contains and tells the stories of families and the farming history that Kaniva is known for. The museum site also features school room, machinery shed and old medical equipment. Of particular interest is the horse trough that was donated by Annis and George Bills. Bills bequeathed approximately 70,000 horse troughs during the depression. This resulted in them being used all over Australia. The Kaniva horse trough includes a small trough for dogs.
