The Wimmera River flows through Horsham and Dimboola and eventually drains into Lake Hindmarsh, a short distance beyond Jeparit. It is the longest land-locked river in Victoria. It is a beautiful and peaceful river for canoeing and fishing and parts of it are also popular with water skiers. The area is abundant with birds, plants and wildlife and there are some great walking tracks. Dimboola features a camping ground and bush walks at Horsehoe and Ackle Bend, see the Little Desert Park Notes for more information. Nominal camping fees apply. Kayaks are available for hire at Elliots Host Farm.
