The Wimmera River flows through Horsham and Dimboola and eventually drains into Lake Hindmarsh, a short distance beyond Jeparit. It is the longest land-locked river in Victoria. It is a beautiful and peaceful river for canoeing and fishing and parts of it are also popular with water skiers. The area is abundant with birds, plants and wildlife and there are some great walking tracks. Pink Lake is situated on the Western Highway near Dimboola, it often glows pink, particularly towards the end of summer. The township features the Dimboola Imaginarium - a whimsical living room filled with curios, collectables, toys, books, plants and other unique gifts. The historic Victoria Hotelis highly recommended.
Jeparit north of Dimboola features an extensive network of waterways to explore ideal for kayaking. The Jeparit Caravan Park is a low cost council run site, with excellent toilets and showers. Ph Yolande 0408 107 851. Nearby, the Wimmera Mallee Pioneer Museum is highly recommended
