Sun 28th July, 4pm SA time Bird Walk and Talk at Bordertown Wetlands Enjoy a leisurely stroll through the beautiful Bordertown Wetlands as we search for and learn about the various bird species that call this area home. Our knowledgeable guide, Prof. Hugh Possingham will lead you on an informative tour, pointing out different bird species and sharing interesting facts about their behaviours and habitats. Standardised survey methods, including the 20 min, 2 ha search, will also be covered. Whether you're a seasoned birdwatcher or just curious about the local wildlife, this event is perfect for nature lovers of all levels. Wed 28th Aug, 7pm Housing Meeting Kaniva & District Progress Association identified the housing shortage as our community’s top concern in 2023. We are working with Wimmera Housing Innovations, established by Wimmera Southern Mallee Development, to conduct a feasability assessment and develop recommendations for solutions. KDPA identified fifty blocks of land for potential development, and we're now focusing on the most viable options. The basic idea is to build one or two housing developments at a time using a special purpose housing investment company. We invite all community members and interested parties to join us for a community meeting at LINK. This will be a great opportunity to learn more, ask questions, and contribute to the discussion.
