Moving here

Kaniva has become increasingly popular as a tree change destination for people seeking to escape the rat race, pollution, traffic and stresses of city life.
Kaniva offers a unique lifestyle that includes low-density housing, a range of local events, retail, sporting facilities, natural attractions and a community spirit with traditional rural values that make for a great country lifestyle.
House prices vary greatly from $100,000 to newly built houses roughly $400,000. Small rural living allotments are also available and there are locally based builders for housing construction. Kaniva offers childcare, kinder & a P12 state school along with medical facilities & resident doctor. The population of the township at the time of the 2016 census was 621.  The town services a further 400 people who live on farms in the surrounding district.  Most houses are a ten minute walk to the main street and Kaniva has one of the lowest crime rates in Victoria.
Kaniva is seeing renewed optimism and business confidence at present.
