Kaniva Lions Club

Kaniva Lions Club is Kaniva's premier volunteer group for active volunteers and have been around since 1966. You can find Lions Clubs all around the world as well as in Australia

Our current projects include:
  • Wetlands and Fauna Park
  • Driver Reviver (Easter, Queen’s Birthday weekend, AFL Grand Final weekend)
  • Australia Day breakfast
  • Royal Children's Hospital Appeal (Good Friday)
  • Lions Christmas Cakes and Puddings and Lions Mints
  • Cemetery Care
  • Debutante Ball (Biannual)
  • Youth of the Year
  • Youth Exchange

Along with the listed projects we also hire out the following equipment
  • BBQ Trailer
  • Merry go Round
  • Mobile Cool-room
  • Tables/Chairs/Linen

Currently, we conduct all these projects with just 13 active members. We are grateful to those members and the many people from the community that are willing to volunteer when we run an event. A number of our major activities would not happen without community assistance. And we always need at least one Lions member to be in attendance at events to meet our insurance obligations.

It is also very rewarding to know that most of the money raised through the projects and programs remains in the community by being donated back through various organisations such as Kaniva Cancer Council Unit, Kaniva Hospital, Kaniva Men’s Shed, Kaniva Community HUB and the Kaniva P12 College.

Becoming a Lion involves:
  • Compassion and a wish to help others
  • Commitment to attend events as well as the social and business meetings
  • Companionship through the club and community involvement

To find out more, or to register an interest in becoming a Lion, visit our facebook page or email us.
