LAKE HINDMARSH

Lake Hindmarsh
This is Victoria's largest natural fresh water lake and after a decade of no water has partially filled with recent rains. Four-Mile Beach, on the southern shore of the lake, was a popular spot for camping, fishing, swimming and boating in Jeparit's heyday.

Jeparit Caravan Park
This is a low cost council run site, with excellent toilets and showers plus 2 cabins. Ph Yolande 0408 107 851. The river access here is ideal for kayaking and provides a network of waterways to explore which are a haven for bird life. The river network also provides a peaceful option away from speed boats.

In the area
Nearby, the  Wimmera Mallee Pioneer Museum is highly recommended. Heading north of Jeparit is the town of Rainbow - highlights include Silo Art at Albacutya, Yurunga Homestead, Pella Church and Turbo Gallery.
